Sept. 24, 2015 Halifax, Nova Scotia

We arrived in Halifax at 8:30 am. We booked a tour to Peggy's cove and the Titanic Museum with a visit to Citadel Hill Fortress.

Almost every tour offered a visit to Peggy's Cove and we wondered why- is it really that great or not much else to see.
The Titanic Museum was not really mentioned but after our visit I think that this should have been the focus of most tours.

One of the reasons to take a fall cruise is to see fall color. Per the guide the weather has not been cool enough in consecutive days to force the trees to change color. There were a few trees in autumn colors but not many. The scenery on the way to Peggy's Cove was beautiful.
Peggy's Cove is a small semi occupied fishing village which I think exists mainly on tourism. It is very scenic and the focus is the old lighthouse.

On the way to Peggy's Cove we passed the Athens Restaurant..

After our visit to Peggy's Cove we drove back to the wharf area  for a Lobster lunch.

Afterwards we met at the Titanic Museum to see the exhibit of artifacts from the ship. This place was fascinating  and  I could have stayed here for a few hours to see everything. If I ever get back to Halifax I will visit the museum again.

We then got on the coach for our last stop- the Citadel Hill Fortress. It is located on a hill overlooking the harbor- view was very nice. Not much to see except to walk around inside and on the fortress walls.

Halifax is scenic and worth another visit - touring it on our own.
