Today we checked out of the hotel to go to Tokyo Disney for a three night visit. We ordered a taxi from the concierge.
The ride to the Disney hotel took about 45 minutes.

Note- I combined our three days into one post. We experienced so much I cannot list everything day by day. Instead I am going to post more photos of our visit than narration.
The hotel valet unloaded our bags and we were greeted by a hostess who took us to the Marceline Salon to check in. As in Shanghai we selected a room in the Concierge floor.

One of the benefits here was a private room to check in and buy our park tickets.
The hostess took our information, found our reservation and we checked in and left the bags with them. Our room was not ready as it was still early in the morning.
We got a map and our passes and made our way to the park.
The park entrance was like the one in Anaheim. There were lots of characters in front for photos and we posed for a lot.
The staff was very friendly and when they saw our first time visitor badge they applauded. It was easy to get around the park and the different lands were well marked. The guests dressed up in costumes and ears and hats.
We had a great time that morning and after noon. We found a restaurant and the menus were easy to figure out and some desserts or drinks came with a souvenir dish or cup respectively. Of course we had to have them.
Since Tokyo Disney was celebrating their 35th Anniversary there was lots of special merchandise for sale at the Emporium. Demand was so strong there was a cast member with a sign telling people where to line up.
Lots of characters in front of the entrance to Disneyland and inside. Some that we have never seen before in Orlando or Anaheim.
Plus our old friend Pluto
When we saw our room we were very impressed. The theme and decor was very cool. There were also little gifts like soap, cups etc.
After we rested we went back into the park.
Since we had park hopper passes we went to Tokyo Sea for dinner at Magellan's. This restaurant was very impressive. The atmosphere was very nice and we got a nice table near the center of the restaurant. The menu was varied with different entrees and offered a four course meal which we took.
The food was superb for a Disney restaurant and we really enjoyed it.
The first day went by in a flash.
Our second day was at the Tokyo Sea.
We took the monorail and the cars were amazing. There were upholstered seats and Mickey shaped windows. So cool. So fun.
Check out the upholstered seats
This park was huge and the only drawback in my opinion was there were limited ways to get to the side and back of the park making for long walks.
The whole park like Tokyo Disney was decorated for Easter- lots of giant eggs, chicks and ducks and the characters had an Easter theme in the costumes. The Japanese liked the idea of Easter but not the religious portion of it.
We went on the journey to the center of the earth ride in Tokyo Sea. It was really cool. I wish it could be installed in Anaheim.
Lots of different rides and lands here. They even had an Italian section with gondola rides and of course we went on a ride. They even sang opera during the ride.
The show on the lake featured Easter. I won't describe here but look at the photos.
We had dinner at the Queen of Hearts buffet restaurant in Disneyland.
They had special desserts with a souvenir and we ordered them. Since we were visiting during Cherry blossom time lots of desserts featured cherry flavor or design.
Our last day at Disney was spent in Disneyland with a short time in Tokyo Sea to buy special souvenirs.

I did not go back to the concierge at the hotel to get info on one stop on our map the first day we were there. We found out the next day it lead to a large Disney store and adjoining mall. Of course we went there twice.
Display in monorail station
The mall had lots of interesting stores and bakeries and specialty food including Starbucks.
At Starbucks we saw the customers leaving their belongings on the tables and then going to order.
What was amazing that we observed all our time here was that the shoppers/guests would leave there bags and purses at the tables and no one bothered them. The items were perfectly safe. No stealing.
Anyway we spent part of one afternoon here and then had dinner and then the last night we had dinner at the Outback.
The days flew by here, weather was good and it was not too crowded. We had a blast.
I asked one host at the hotel if Easter was the most popular time to visit and he surprised me and said Halloween was the busiest season.
If you ever have a trip planned to Japan include time to visit Tokyo Sea and Disneyland. It is a magical place and totally different in a good way from the American parks.
We said our goodbyes to the staff in the Marceline Salon and wheeled our luggage out to the entrance to meet our taxi which took us back to the Asakusa View Hotel.
We checked in and rested for a while before we ventured out for dinner. We found out there was a Hard Rock Cafe not too far from the hotel so we took a taxi there. Turns out it was inside a large subway station. Lots of people going get a subway ride or arriving.
A view of the area in front of the station we took after dinner.
A taxi brought us back to the hotel and we called it a night.
